Working with local teams is a real pleasure!

"I’m posted in Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire, one of our biggest markets, and I’m the first Laïta VIE volunteer in Africa. I also travel to Ghana, Cameroon and Senegal. My job is to support our import and distribution customers with regard to developing our brands and product ranges, which I do by gathering competitive intelligence so that I can give them the best advice for making their selections. I work proactively too, setting up trade events with the support of the marketing department. In addition I follow up on orders to support the assistants and teach our clients about dairy products to help them develop their cheese counters. The experience has taught me a lot about people and it gives me real pleasure to work with local teams! I’ve also learned to work autonomously and improved my organisational skills."

"VIE provides young people with an international experience and a good salary, but financial considerations aside it also offers a whole range of diverse opportunities. It’s a real education. VIE is a positive advantage on any CV, a recognised standard that opens a lot of doors later on. Personally, I’d love to continue the adventure with Laïta. Africa has such great potential; the markets here are growing rapidly. I still have a lot to learn, but there’s also a lot I can bring to the company."
