Good, healthy products
As part of our Passion du Lait® CSR strategy, we’re working to develop nutritional commitments for our consumer products, dairy ingredients and health nutrition products.
A healthier, simpler and more transparent food offer
To respond to customer and consumer expectations and anticipate changes in the regulations, a cross-disciplinary working group including representatives from Laïta’s three markets (consumer goods, dairy ingredients and health nutrition products) will be developing nutritional commitments focusing on three aspects:
· Optimising the amounts of salt, fat, sugar, protein, calcium and vitamins in our recipes.
· Reducing the number of ingredients.
· Continuing the work already done to eliminate controversial additives* and reduce the number of additives overall. Where flavourings are necessary, only natural flavourings will be used.
*Based on Que Choisir evaluation. We consider the additives in categories 3 and 4 to be controversial.
Revised recipes for consumer goods
In 2022 we carried out a survey of the recipes for our consumer goods to assess the overall situation. It revealed that 89% of our ingredients lists contain less than five ingredients, 98% were free from additives, and 99% were free from colouring and preservatives. In terms of nutritional content, more than half of the recipes represent a source of protein, calcium or vitamin A.
In addition, almost a quarter of our consumer goods recipes have been improved over the last three years to reduce the sugar or salt content, or to eliminate colourings and preservatives. In terms of products for young consumers, 90% of these are now made to new formulas with improved nutritional profiles. All products in the Paysan Breton range are made with ingredients of natural origin and contain no artificial colourings or flavourings, no preservatives and no palm oil.

Inside health nutrition
Our teams are committed to providing safe, healthy products in powder or liquid format that respond to specific clinical nutrition, infant nutrition or adult nutrition needs.
In terms of infant nutrition we offer various solutions: first infant milks (0-6 months), follow-on milks (6-12 months), growing-up milks (12-36 months), etc. We also offer special formulas: anti-reflux, anti-colic, comfort, lactose-free, etc.
To respond to the needs of undernourished and debilitated patients and those suffering from certain conditions, the staff in our medical nutrition section prepare products responding to all types of formula and profile, with or without functional supplements (DHA, prebiotics, amino acids, etc.), vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Whether it’s protein beverages for young children, high-calorie nutritional desserts for the elderly, energy gels, nutritional shakes or texture-modified products for dysphagia, diabetes and sarcopenia patients, the teams at Laïta Nutrition can systematically provide tailored solutions.
The health nutrition range also includes dietary products and food supplements such as meal replacements, low-calorie/high-protein snacks, functional beverages for pregnant and breast-feeding women and sports drinks.
Spotlight on dairy ingredients
In terms of dairy ingredients for our industrial clients, we produce powdered yoghurts that contain all the benefits of yoghurt in powder form: calcium, protein, natural lactic acid and lactic ferments. We also produce powdered butter and high-quality, concentrated, functional milk protein powders such as calcium caseinate.
