- “For the whole of 2022 I had the pleasure of heading up a 15-strong cross-disciplinary working group convened under the ‘Passion Nutrition’ banner to plan out our nutritional commitments. The expertise of each group member was vital to ensure we obtained a comprehensive view of the subject from all perspectives - distributor, manufacturer and consumer customers, the current and future regulatory framework, and recipe formulation. The improvement of our recipes was approached from two complementary angles:
· The Nutri-Score components, which provide a summary of the nutritional value on the label to help consumers choose the product with the best nutritional profile for their particular need;
· The degree to which the product has been processed, which can be assessed from the number and nature of the ingredients listed on the label."

“Once the group had completed their work we produced a table listing our commitments by product category, and an action plan for achieving the set objectives. In the ultra-fresh products category at Lanfains (22) and Ploudaniel (29), for example, we have already reduced the amount of added sugar in our principal recipes by around 20% over the last four years, and will continue to adjust the sugar content in line with market developments. We are also committed to excluding controversial additives* and preservatives as of 2025. The Passion Nutrition group will remain in operation to ensure our commitments are adhered to in the long term, and will be revising them in 2025.”
*Based on Que Choisir evaluation. We consider the additives in categories 3 and 4 to be controversial.
