Anne Fosseux, Head of R&D

Laïta Nutrition develops and produces nutrition solutions to cater for the needs of the most vulnerable people in society, and manufactures them in liquid and powder format on behalf of clients.

Key activity sectors include medical nutrition and infant nutrition, and functional nutrition aimed at more mainstream consumers but also adapted to the special needs of people at different stages of life. - Foods developed for special medical needs: this covers a wide spectrum of needs in patients of all ages: undernourishment, textured foods for swallowing disorders, metabolic disorders, diabetes, cancer, etc. Also included are paediatric formulas and milk for premature babies, and the highly specific nutritional needs linked to low birth weight. - Infant formulas: first infant milk and follow-on milk formulas, and also specialist formulas such as comfort, lactose-free and anti-reflux. - Functional nutrition: beverages for pregnant women, senior formulas, meal replacements, sports formulas, etc.

All product lines are subject to a strict regulatory framework for the particular type of product and section of society they’re aimed at.

The formulation work for these products, whether in liquid or powder format, is extremely important. Rigorous adherence to the regulatory framework for the particular product is imperative, of course, but it’s also important to select ingredients both for their nutritional qualities and to ensure they are safe for consumption in highly specific formulas. The teams at Laïta Nutrition work every day to ensure the formulas they develop are safe and respond to the precise nutritional requirements of the people they’re designed for, even the most vulnerable.
