Maxime

Drying tower operator

With an advanced technician certificate in mechanics and industrial robotics, Maxime Robert was always going to work in industry. In the end, he went into the dairy industry.

Opportunity for development

Maxime started at Laïta on a three-month internship, which was quickly converted into a fixed-term contract and then a permanent contract. After an initial posting packaging crème fraiche on the fresh products production line, he quickly seized the opportunity for more responsibility by applying for the position of drying tower operator.

Overseeing the entire process

Following a two-month training period, Maxime can now operate the tower single-handed where skimmed milk is concentrated and dried ready for processing into powered milk. "What I like most about this job is the autonomy. I oversee the whole process from my office - monitoring, adjusting the settings, carrying out regular product analyses, cleaning, etc. I also do basic maintenance on the installations.

What I like about Laïta is the trust they put in me and the autonomy I have. Working 3x8 shifts has its advantages and its drawbacks, but it’s easy to organise yourself because the schedule is set three months in advance. And there’s such a good atmosphere on site and among the team.

Autonomy and varied work

The work is varied. It requires attention, precision and responsiveness to ensure product quality after a breakdown, for example. You have to have your head screwed on! "What I like about Laïta is the trust the company puts in me, the autonomy I have and the varied workload. Working 3x8 shifts has its advantages and its drawbacks, but it’s easy to organise yourself because the schedule is set three months in advance. And there’s such a good atmosphere on site and among the team.”
