Visit of the Minister Delegate in charge of Foreign Trade Mr. Olivier Becht
Laura, who has been working as a sales volunteer in Dubai since February 2023, recently had a visit from the minister for foreign trade, Olivier Becht.
It was a chance for her to introduce him to the cooperative organisation and our various products. They talked about the market for dairy products, the territorial base for the cooperative’s activities and the impact of its regions.
After the discussion, there followed a general debate between the minister, the ambassador and the volunteer workers who attended; the topics covered included the VIE programme (International Volunteering), the balance of trade, the need for SMEs to move into exports and the programmes in place for them to do so. To conclude the day’s activities, the French guests were invited to a cocktail party at the French Consulate General in Dubai, where Olivier Becht and his team raised issues and entered into discussions on French expectations in the United Arab Emirates.
